August 12 marked not only the opening of the grouse-shooting season on the moors of Britain. It heralded the introduction of Leyland's £475,000 cornputerised telephone exchange, providing a far easier and quicker system of communication than at present Staff are expected to take a little while to become accustomed to it but Leyland's own telecommunications expert, Geoff Hudson, is on hand as resident grouse-shooter.
