• St Helens Co-operative Society has sold its interest in Helena Coaches to Mr Brian Clark of Wigan who will operate his fleet as Clark-Helena.
Mr Clark told CM this week: "I want to retain the name because of its connections with St Helens."
The Co-operative Society has sold its seven vehicles for a "Considerable" sum to concentrate on retail business. Mr Percy Carmen, managing director, commented: "This was one activity we felt we could do without."
