Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE suspension systemdeveloped for the new Morris 1100 c.c. car has many interesting technical features. The system is known as Moulton Hydrolastic and is being manufactured for B.M.C. by the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd.

Design and operation of the suspension are relatively simple; there are no mechanical parts, and little maintenance is needed. A Hydrolastic unit is carried at each independently sprung wheel, those at the front and rear on each side of the car being connected hydraulically by an anti-freeze, water-based fluid, pressurized by the weight of the car. Each sealed unit includes a fluid displacer causing. fluid displacement on every wheel movement, a. valve to damp the fluid displacements and a rubber spring activated by the fluid pressure.

When is front or rear wheel passes over a bump, displacement of fluid towards the other wheel on that side keeps the car level and give a smooth ride free from pitch, ensuring maximum road adhesion. Where both wheels on one side of the Cal' are deflected together, the increased fluid pressure in the sealed system reacts on the rubber springs, providing a high degree of roll stiffness in cornering.

All wheel movements are immediately damped as the displaced fluid passes through the rubber damper valves, and additional damping is provided in the pipe interconnecting the units.
