THREE examples of corrosion resistant tanks for road vehicles will be shown by the A.P.V. Co., Ltd., at The Commercial Motor Show.

A 4,000-gal. six-compartment aluminium alloy tank for Mobiloil is of a double-stepped elliptical design that

gives a low centre of gravity. It is mounted on Carrimore twin-oscillating axle running gear with air suspension and will be shown with an A.E.C. Mandator tractive unit. An example of A.P.V.-s stainless steel tanks will be a 3,150-gal. unit for Bulmer's. This also is elliptical and has three compartments. it is mounted on York running gear with air

suspension and will be shown with a Foden tractive unit, At the rear of the tank is a cabinet housing stainless steel pumping and valve equipment for discharging.

Another stainless steel tank to be shown is a 3,750 gal. double-compartment unit for heavy oils and fats. it is insulated with 2 in. of Fibreglass and has an aluminium outer casing. The tank is mounted on an Atkinson eight-wheeler chassis and is for Monkton Motors, Ltd. Each compartment is fitted with a stainless-steel heating evil. Discharge is by a Reavell air compressor and the tank is designed for 25 p.s.i. working pressure.
