Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Iread weekly, with much interest, comments by your readers on saving the environment from destruction due to excessive emissions from vehicle exhausts including, in the past, those from Rebecca Jenkins, managing director of the Lane Group, It is all very well to argue that the environmental pollution problem will be reduced by using alternatively powered vehicles, but in order to produce

them and their associated tractive methods, there will be as much pollution as now. The transport industry needs to reduce the atmospheric pollutants now and the best way is to reduce the amount of fuel being used while still providing the required services to industry and the public.
