• Specially designed for breweries and similar users, a new Primrose-Laird conversion, with eight-wheel chassis, is to be shown by Southern Bros Ltd, Manchester Road, Bolton, Lanes, during a special exhibition that will be run from April 25 to 28 from 10.30am to 8.30pm including Sunday.
The Laird eight-wheeler incorporates 17in. wheels and offers a particularly low-loading height; carrying capacity is 10 tons. Among other vehicles to be shown by Southerns, who are British-Leyland commercial vehicle distributors, will be a Mastiff pantechnicon, also Edbro and Telehoist tippers on BMC 16-ton gross chassis, and a range of BMC small vans.
