• During the past year the express carriers group of the RHA made a number of suggestions to the Home Office concerning the carriage of inflammable liquids, substances and corrosives. They were as follows: consignors should show the gross weights of packages containing inflammable liquids, etc; the limit for small items excluded from .labelling requirements should be increased; the exemption limit For inflammable liquids, etc, carried on a vehicle should be increased to 1000kg with a degree of tolerance; the label signifying a particular class of hazard should be replaced by a general warning plate indicatng that the vehicle is carrying dangerous 3.ub stances.
The group has re-elected as chairman Mr H. A. Russett (Premier Transport Ltd, Bristol) and as vice-chairmen Mr K. Fitzmaurice (Fitzmaurice Carriers Ltd, Norfolk) and Mr D. C. Pragnell (A. Pack-lam and Co Ltd, Southampton).
The RHA agricultural hauliers group las re-elected Mr G. W. Pell (G. W. Pell Kirton) Ltd, Lines) as chairman and vir J. B. Dailey (Ground's Transport iervices Ltd., Lines) as vice-chairman.
