THE annual " Motoculture " week organized by the French Ministry of Agriculture will be held this year from October 1st to 6th, inclusive. The event comprises an international exhibition of tractors and motor-driven agricultural implements, followed by practical demonstrations on the Garenne estate, at Aubergenville, in the neighbourhood of Mantes. The following sections have been arranged
(1) Tractors and stationary engines fitted with gas-producers.
(2) Special motor cultivators for vineyard work and market gardening.
(3) Military lorries with gas generators.
(4) Portable charcoal burners for the production of fuel suitable for gazogenes.
(5) Forestry appliances.
(6) Electric ploughs and tractors.
(7) Mechanical drainage appliances.
Demonstrations will include the mechanical pulling of beetroot and the automatic distribution of lime on a large scale. An important entry of machines has been received by the organizing committee. In the gas-producer section Renault, ‘Scemia,
Carrier, Bernard, Mistral, Somua and Vendeavre are showing.
Tn the second section a number of gas-driven army lorries will be shown.
Entries in the tractor sections are very numerous ; they include the names of Renault, Somua, (Lorraine Dietrich), Scemia, Rip, (Th.
Schneider), Mistral, Dubois, Fordson, Deering, McCormick, Faul, John Deer, Centaur, Cletrae, Austin, Hanomag-, W.D.—a thoroughly international list, including French, British, Belgian, German and American makers. Altogether 46 tractors should be seen in action.
The trial ground is within 500 yds. of Aubergenville Station, on the main Paris-Mantes line, and, as the distance from Paris is only about 20 miles, it is probable that the show will he well attended.
