Break the budget for an FH 12
We were really interested in the Renault Magnums up for sale, but it seems you need to be lightning quick to get your hands on one— phone up as soon as your CM arrives on a Thursday morning is our advice. Overall, though. we found several trucks which would have done us well. Although the Scanias are slightly older than the other trucks, they're hardy, well-built vehicles which will go on and on, and are good value at the price.
But if we were looking for a truck to do Continental work, and could stretch to it, we'd have the Volvo FH1 2. It's a solid, reliable truck and is only being sold because its owner has bought a younger model. At £13,000 you'll get a truck that's capable of many more miles, and a nice environment to live in too.
