Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

II Stoke on Trent truck driver Norman Coventry has appeared in court on falsification of tachograph chart charges and with stealing diesel fuel worth almost £10,000.

Coventry, of Victoria Road, Hanley, is accused of two offences of altering an entry on a tachograph record sheet, six offences of false accounting and seven of theft.

Prosecuting at the Crewe magistrates court hearing, Anthony Gregory said that the prosecution claimed Coventry stole £9,000 to £10,000-worth of diesel from his employer for nine months. It was also alleged that Coventry falsified fuel sheets to cover up discrepancies in the amount of diesel used, and that tachograph charts were altered to cover up attempts by Coventry to sell the diesel to others.

The magistrates adjourned the case until the beginning of October.
