• The founder of County Wexford-based Nolan Transport has been bound over to keep the peace for two years for assaulting a picket during a bitter eight-month dispute over union recognition.

James Nolan Senior appeared before New Ross court to face charges of assaulting James Halligan on 19 April. Halligan is one of six drivers who have been on strike since February.

Nolan was bound over with a £100 bond and ordered to pay 1:250 into the court pc>orbox.
