• Total Oil Great Britain is to equip its 85 tankers with £750,000 worth of on-board computers and radio communication gear from Drum Engineering of Bradford.
The computers will monitor operational information such as fuel consumption and driving time, and can provide the driver with route and delivery details.
Drum equipped Esso's fleet with similar systems last year, but Total's order also includes a communication system to transfer data between vehicles and depots.
