CONFUSION reigned within the industry this week as managers tried to determine whether the will have to take the new exam for the transport managers' licence.

And the answer is: if you don't qualify for the exemptions then you must take the exam.

Unless a transport manager falls into one of the exemption categories, he will have to tal+ the exam by January 1, OR when his employers' operators licence comes up for renewal, becaus the manager will be specified in the application. Exemptions to the new rule about the exam are: if he ha practical experience befor January I, 1975 or is a membf of some professional associz tions.
