Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TAURUS, a new Reynolds Boughton high-speed fire appliance chassis — featuring Boughton's own gearbox — is expected to make its debut in November.

This was disclosed during the Boughton Group's second exhibition and open day when its widely diversified range of products was on display.

Exports from the group are so high that the company received the Queen's Award.

The Taurus will be manufactured in addition to the new 27.4 tonnes (27 tons) gvw 4 x 4 Phoenix high-speed fire appliance chassis.

The new vehicle will have a much lower centre of gravity, because engine and transmission will be mounted lower in the chassis, than normal.

Reynolds Boughton currently manufactures high speed fire engine chassis with a choice of two or three axles.

With the three-axled vehicles, a choice of 6 x 4 or 6 x 6 drive is available.

The Phoenix Mk 3 chassis, with 4 x 4 layout, has its power unit, like the .other models, mounted at the rear.

A Detroit 8V 92T turbo charged diesel is coupled to an Allison torque converter and Allison H7750DRD automatic transmission.

Boughton manufactures the pto and transfer box as well as the rest of the chassis.

Although only one of the Reynolds Boughton vehicles is in use in the UK (at Manchester airport), talks are taking place with the Civil Aviation Authority to increase their use.

Another new product on show by Boughton was a fail safe timber grab. This uses a simple over-centre mechanical device which means that, even in the event of an hydraulic failure, the load cannot be dropped.

Another Boughton Group company, Anchorpac, has introduced a waste compaction system which can be used anywhere provided there is an electrical supply source.

Both the CC800 and CC1000 with capacities of 8cm and lOcum (286 and 357cuft) respectively are said to be liquid tight.

The self-packer available in Multibucket, Roll-on or Amphiroll versions, has three side-mounted control switches.

A thrust of 16 tonnes (15.7 tons) is developed by the compaction ram and it is said to give high compaction densities.
