P&O is introducing a new ro-ro service between the UK and Sweden, to be operated by Ferrymasters, part of P&O Unit Loads.

A new vessel, Elk, will operate to Gothenburg and Helsingborg from Middlebrough's Tees Dock ro-ro terminal every Monday and Thursday at 10 a.m. and will carry up to 120 12m trailers per sailing.

NEW RECORD results for the half-year have been announced by H. & J. Quick Group Ltd.

The Manchester-based main Ford dealers' trading profit leaps to £695,022, and the net profit is up 26 per cent to £449,558 from £356,930. Earnings per 5p Ordinary share are increased to 5.63p against 4.57p in the same period last year.

The interim dividend had been fixed at 0.8p per stock unit compared with 0.509p in 1976. The final is forecast at 1.65p against 1.032p last year.

BROWNHILLS Commercials, taken over last year by Tarmac Roadstone, is striding ahead with its £11/2 million redevelopment.
