Aber Carriers, owned by Oriel Foods Ltd; G & W Collins, is part of the Wheatsheaf Group of companies.

A spokesman for Aber said: "Discussions are taking place with G & W Collins Ltd. They wish to add Aber Carriers to their existing warehousing and road transport interests.

"No redundancies will be involved."

Aber Carriers employs a staff of 89 and own 34 lorries and other vehicles.

The company, founded by the late Glyn Jenkin Jones, of Welshpool, was nationalised in 1948. It returned to private ownership in 1954.
