The first of 10 of these new 42 cu. yd. bulk vehicles and six Load Lugger container vehicles have recently gone into service with Richard Biffa Ltd., who operates a waste disposal service and civil engineering materials haulage business within a radius of 40 miles of Gerrards Cross, Bucks. The new vehicles have bodies manufactured by Telehoist Ltd. and are for the growing wastedisposal service, which currently handles 700 tons of domestic refuse and industrial waste a day. The new 42 cu. yd. vehicles are on AEC Mammoth Major chassis, bodies being of welded construction and measuring 8 ft. high by 20 ft. long, with 6 in. taper from front to back for clean discharge. Tipping gear is Telehoist twin front-end rams with four extensions giving a 44' angle of tip. Payload is 13 tons 1 cwt. The Load Luggers, not shown, are on Albion Super Six chassis qf 14 tons g.v.w.
