Ma. J. G. °swerve has been appointed sales representative of the Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd., for Birmingham and the counties of Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

made secretary of Oldham and Son Ltd., Manchester.
M. E. G. MORLEY, director and general manager. Wolseley Motors, Ltd., has resigned. He is being succeeded by Ma. W. PEACH, who was works manager of Morris Motors, Engines Branch, Coventry, before he, joined the Wolseley concern 16 years ago.
MR. L. W000coex, who took over the managership of the India and Burma depots of Leyland Motors, Ltd., in 1947, has reterned to England to take up an appointment with the Leyland Export Division at Leyland. Mr. Woodcock has been succeeded by MR. B. W. H. WILSON, a former colonel in the Indian Army.
COLONEL A. JERgErr,M .1 test.T., president of the Traders Road Transport Association, has been re-elected chairman of the National Road Transport Federation for the year 1949-50. Mg. B. G. TURNER, M.INsr.T.;chairman of the Road Haulage Association, and Ma. F. J. SPE1GHT. M.INST.T., a vice-chairman of the Passenger Vehicle Operators Association, have been re-elected as the two vice-chairmen of the Federation.
VEHICLE BUILDERS IN CONFERENCE
AFTER the cOnference which will be held to-morrow, September 17, by the North Western Area of the National Employers' Association of Vehicle Builders, at the Cliffs Hotel. Blackpool, delegates will go on a tour of the resort's first post-war displaY of illuminations. A luncheon at 1 p.m. will precede the conference at 2.30 p.m. The North Eastern Area of the Association will hold a conference on Saturday, October 8, at the Grand Hotel, Scarborough. A reception et 12.30 p.m. will be followed by a luncheon at 1 p.m., and the conference at 2.30 p.m.
Mr. F. Siddall, of Manchester, president of the Association, will be present at both conference.s. The vicepresident, Mr. J. H. Beal, of Lincoln, will attend the Scarborough conference.
