INHyderabad there. is an aceie shortage of passenger vehicles and to ease the position, goods vehicles are being pressed into service. Nearly half of the 85 Leyland Comet goods vehicles delivered to the Nizam State Railways have been converted for passenger service.

The goods-type driver's cabs of these vehicles have been left in position and used bus bodies mounted behind them. The average seating capacity is 30. A fleet of oil-engined Leyland Hippo Mk II six-wheelers is performing similar duty. In this case longitudinal seats have been fitted in the generalpurpose goods-carrying bodies to provide accommodation for 56 passengers.

NOW WE HAVE THE " MUFTO" INDING it impossible to obtain office accommodation for his local staffs, the Road Haulage Executive Eastern Divisional Manager has acquired three single-decker buses, no longer wanted for traffic, and converted them into offices, complete with lighting and heating equipment. WHY ALBIONS ARE ABSENT AN explanation as to why Albion Motors, Ltd., Scotstoun, Glasgow, is not exhibiting at the Scottish Industries Exhibition now running in Glasgow, was given recently by Mr. H. W. Fulton, managing director of the compatig.

Mr. rulton, who said that there had been much comment by visitors to the

Kelvin Hall from home and overseas because Albion Motors, Ltd., had nothing on show, explained that the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, of which the company is a member, authorized exhibits only at certain shows. The Motor Show to be held in the Kelvin Hall was one of these, and the Society intimated that it could not authorize Albion Motors, Ltd., to exhibit at another show in the same city before then.

"The rule is fair enough, and as loyal members we have complied with it," said Mr. Fulton, "but we feel it is, unfortunate that as a result, we have been criticized by people who could not have "mown the full facts."
