Care Exercised by a Local Body-builder in Producing First rate Coachwork.

PHOTOORAPHS appear on the next page of a new A.D.C. Regal 32seater double-entrance bus which has recently been supplied to Colchester Corporation. The bodywork, which is by Harold J. Willett, Ltd., of High Street, Colchester, is not only well finished off, but incorporates some consmendable features.

The body frame Is of lightweight onstruction, being specially strengthened throughout with the most modern flitchplate methods. The front entrance door, which is of the folding type and extends to the lower step, is controlled from the driver's cab, this having been successfully arranged in spite of the fact that the chassis has forward control. Over the rear entrance of the bus is a light throwing its rays directly on to the step to facilitate entrance and exit from, the vehicle at night time, and 11 roof lights give the saloon interior excellent illumination. The bus has seven drop windows, operated by Rawlings gear, and above them are fitted the new Beclawat continuous glass louvres.

As the interior illustration shows, the seats are of the semi-bucket variety ; they have spring-back rests and are upholstered in best-quality moquette with leather trimmings, which not only resist the extra wear along the tops and sides, but also give an attractive appearance.

The body has glazed partitions placed transversely just before the wheelarches, so that it is virtually divided into two compartments, smoking being permitted in one of them. Two lockers have been incorporated under the rear seats, and these have individual lighting when they are open.

Tht comfort of the driver has been studied almost as much as that of the passengers, there being ample room in the cab and excellent vision in all directions...

The steep slope of the windscreen, coupled with the lines of the front and rear destination boxes, which are built into the roof, give the bus a handsome, low and streamlined appearance, and the public has expressed general appreciation of the new vehicle.
