T recently read a letter in the 1 Commercial Motor from a recovery driver taking about wages for the job (CM 2-8 October).
Like the writer I am sick of the pay and conditions we get in return for a job that everyone knows is important and can be dangerous.
Where I work we draw lots for who covers the Christmas season and who gets a holiday in the school holidays to take the kids away. I could definitely do with more pay but it's the holidays and shift work that really wind me up.
The boss doesn't want to know about changing things to make our lives better. Name and address supplied.
