Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SUCCESS can be a doubleedged sword; it invites imitators. Perkins is having this problem with spurious spare parts, many from the Far East. Such components may not fit but even if they do, they may fail quickly, with financial toss as the least of the operator's misfortunes.

"Some forgeries are very skilful," says Perkins. "They are exact copies of the real part and are packaged in similar wrappings and boxes."

The operator's only safeguard is to buy parts under the brand name "Powerpart" solely from approved Perkins suppliers, who, I presume, are not likely to be tricked by foreign forgers.
