WINDFOIL of East Dereham, Norfolk, claims to have built the f all-plastic mobile outside-broadcast television studio.
The body containing the unit is built on a Mercedes Benz 16.24 sleeper cab unit for the Ampex Systems Group and i be used by Norwegian t vision.
Its patented Econolite bc manufactured from compo Insulite panels, is 8m (26ft : long by 2.47m (8ft 1in) wide 3.65m (12ft) high and took o three and a half months to cc plete, which included internal ting and finishing.
A special Ciba-Geigy adhes is used to minimise the numl of mechanical fastenings, resi ing in a sealed, lightweight, durable structure of moulc panels which will operate temperatures as low as minus degrees centigrade.
It is designed to carry tl television cameras, a video corder, an audio console a monitoring facilities for sou and vision.
