Mr. I. G. Cameron, who joined Dunlop Rubber Co. Ltd. as an office boy 36 years ago, has been appointed general sales manager, manufacturers' division of Dunlop's U.K. tyre group.

Mr. R. E. Fuller has been elected president of the Retread Manufacturers' Association, with Mr. A. D. Davidson as vice-president. Both will also serve as chairman and vice-chairman respectively of the council of the R.M.A. for the ensuing year. Mr. Alexander J. White, assistant to the road motor engineer, British Railways, Scotland, has been appointed road motor engineer. Mr. White, who is 54, joined the L.N.E.R. in 1938. He worked in their road motor repair depots at Scunthorpe, Doncaster and Manchester. He went to Scotland in 1945 as district inspector at Cowlairs, Glasgow, and helped in the establishment of the road motor repair organization on the L.N.E.R. When the railways were nationalized Mr. White assisted in the amalgamation of the L.N.E.R. and L.M.S. motor repair depots in Scotland. He was appointed assistant to the road motor engineer in 1955.

In re-organizing their design and drawing office, Taskers of Andover (1932) Ltd. have appointed Mr. L. T. Bedford as senior project engineer special vehicles, dealing with large contract orders and special-purpose trailers. Three divisional engineers have been appointed: Mr. D. E. Fisher, to deal with development of new designs; Mr. R. C. Goddard, for prime movers, coupl:ogs and air-pressure braking; and Mr. L. A. Piper, for standard trailers. All the above are responsible to the technical director, Mr. H. 0. Doughty.

Mr. Basil de Mattos, sales director, and Mr. A. E. Maiden, chief engineer, of Laystall Cromard Ltd. are to carry out an extenSive tour of the American engine building industry, particularly in the diesel field, between October 16 and 31. Mr. Maiden is to read a paper on " Cromard " cylinder liners to the S.A.E. national meeting at Baltimore, October 19 to 23.

Mr. A. Collins has joined the board of Berkeley Square Garages Ltd.

Mr. D. K. Read has been appointed sales manager, performance testing, of the Blackhawk division of Applied Power Industries (U.K.) Ltd. Mr. Read, formerly with Crypton Equipment Ltd. for nine years, will be responsible under Blackhawk sales manager Mr. Les Husk for sales development of the new Blackhawk range of engine analysing equipment which makes its •first U.K. appearance at the Motor Show on October 21.

Mr. A. L. Thomson has beet appointed by Midland Industries Ltd. as their representative for Scotland.

Mr. F. B. McPherson, previously managing director of Glacier Metal Co. Ltd., has been appointed a director of Telehoist Ltd., a subsidiary of Wilmot Breeden (Holdings).

Mr. J. L. S. Biddle, formerly with King and Taylor Ltd. as sales manager, has been appointed sales manager of Freight Development Co. Ltd., of Lancing, Sussex. The Lancer-Boss Group -Leighton Buzzard manufacturers of lift trucks— has appointed Mr. R. V. May as group marketing manager. Mr. May, who is 32, was previously with George Kent Ltd., industrial instrument and control manufacturers.

Mr. Austin M. O'Malley has been appointed field sales manager, motor and allied industries, of the Pinchin Johnson division of Pinchin Johnson and Associates Ltd.

Mr. Bernard A. Payne has joined the London office sales staff of R. A. Dyson and Co. Ltd. For the past three years Mr. Payne was with Church Road Motors (Southend) Ltd. and prior to that he had six years with F. G. Smith (Motors) Ltd.

Mr. D. A. Lattimore has been appointed to the Lumax sales force of Ceag Ltd. He is to represent the company's interests in Lancashire, Cheshire and North Wales on the retirement of Mr. eye, the present Lurnax representative. Mr. Pye has represented the company for more than 30 years.

Mr. Bruce G. Russell has been appointed sales manager of the industrial compon:nts division, H. K. Porter Company (Great Britain) Ltd. Mr. Russell recently returned to the United Kingdom from a field sales appointment in the United States.

Mr. I. Parsons Chandler has been transferred from the spark plug and ceramic division to the motor accessory division of S. Smith and Sons (England) Ltd., where he will continue to be responsible for the sales promotion of both K.L.G. and Lodge spark plugs.

Mr. Neville C. Eldridge has been appointed London branch manager of Repco Ltd. and manager of the subsidiary company, Replacement Parts (Australia) Ltd. Mr. P. A. Davis, former manager, will be returning to Australia in November.

Obituary

WE regret to record the deaths of Mr. C. E. F. Blaber, Mr. Frederick Ellison, Mr. J. C. H. Lovelock.

Mr. Blaber. who had been service superintendent of Albion Motors Ltd. for the past 28 years, died recently. Mr. Blaber, who was 62, joined Albion 46 years ago as an apprentice. He left the company 114 1924 to work as a service engineer in China, returning in 1931, After service in inspection and engine test departments he was appointed service superintendent in 1936.

Mr. Ellison, who was a former transport manager of Arthur Holland Ltd. and Shaw Carpets, has died at the age of 49.

Mr. Lovelock, who died last week, was formerly overseas sales manager of C.A.V. Ltd., of Acton, London, W.3. He had retired in January, 1963.
