L'EGURES for the two latest roadside
goods-vehicle checks have now become available. At Liverpool, 821 vehicles were examined and of these 533 65 per centt were found defective; 451 (55 per cent of total) were given delayed prohibitions, 82 (10 per cent) had immediate G.V.9s. In Glasgow 762 vehicles were inspected and 422 found defective; of these, 360 (47 per cent) received delayed notices and 62 (8 per cent) immediate.
Training for Depot Managers TllE American Trucking Association is sponsoring improvement courses for terminal supervisors in the U.S. haulage industry. The six-day sessions will concentrate on successful leadership techniques, effective docking operations, and pick-up and delivery management_
Each trainee will work on an original "problem-solving" project designed to encourage recognition of on-the-job problems and finding the best possible solutions.
