Yorkshire Licensing Authority, said it was an example of the looee way that lecords were kept. 'Defendant said he had been under the impression that he was in order if he kept to the times he had entered in the record.
Proof of Oil-engine Popularity.
During the period from October 1, 1935, to September 30, 1936, Leyland Motors, Ltd., produced more oil engines tha,n petrol power units. Apart from those for the Cub model, 65 per cent, of the engines manufactured were of the compression-ignition type.
Manchester Vehicles on Parade.
The C.M.U.A. Manchester Area vehicle parade, which takes place to-morrow (Saturday) at Belle Vise Speedway Park, will commence at 10 a.m, with the assembly of publicservice vehicles; goods vehicles will congregate at 10.30 a.m. Entrance, in all cases, will be by way of Redgate Lance.
New Buyer of A.E.C. Buses.
The Trent Motor Traction Co., Ltd., Derby, has placed an order with the Associated Equipment Co., Ltd., for 50 passenger vehicles. It has indented for 30 Regent double-deckers and 20 Regal single-deckers, and all of them will he powered by the A.E.C. standard oil engine. This is the first time that the Trent concern has operated buses of A E .C. manufacture.
Exhibition of Dominion Tyres.
The Dominion Tyre Co., Ltd., 3, St. James's Square, London, S.W:1, is inviting members of the trade to a reception and exhibition of Dominion Centipede tyres at the Princes Restaurant Piccadilly, London, W., from October 15 to 24. The exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and admission is by ievita.tion or trade card.
"Hell Drivers" Again.
Chrysler Motors, Ltd., is, once again, staging a thrilling exhibition of car acrobatics by the famous " Hell Drivers" at Wembley Stadium, at specified hours from October 16 to Octouer 22, with the exception of Mon. day, October 19; admission is free. These dare-devil drivers perform unusual feats with stock cars.
Joint Fire Brigade for Welsh Area?
Ammandord Urban District Council is endeavouring to. promote a scheme for a well-equipped jointly owned fire brigade to serve a wide area in Carmarthenshire. The council has invited the Cwrnamman and Llandilo Urban District Councils and the Llandilo and Llanelly Rural District Councils te confer on the establishment of a joint brigade and the buying of fire-engines and other equipment.
