• Dover operator George Hammond has signed an agreement with Norbert Dentressangle aimed at increasing transshipments through the port of Dover. Under the joint venture both operators will offer new transshipment deals.
• Securicor Omega Express International (S0E1) has won a 2150,000 contract to deliver veterinary equipment to the European distribution centre of French-based company ldexx.
• Vehicle hire company Ryder has signed a fiveyear, El m deal with Harrow Contract Services, an operating division of the London Borough of Harrow, to supply and maintain 75 street maintenance vehicles.
• Merlin Distributior has been awarded a contract to deliver commercial and industrial goods throughout the UK to the Electrolux Food Services Group.
• Swift Transport Services, the industrial logistics division of Christian Salvesen Distribution, has won a £650,000-a-year rolling contract to provide distribution services to bituminous waterproofing company Ruberoid Building Products.
• Ipswich Borough Contracts has won a five-year, 2900,000-a-year contract to carry out refuse collection in the borough.
• Central Trailer Rentco (CTR) has won a five-year contract-hire deal with Wirral-based operator Transmere Distribution, Van Leer Packaging's transport company. CTR will provide 55 of Van Leer's 300-strong fleet.
