• FEDERAL EXPRESS GORDON Ian Gordon is the new personnel director at Federal Express Systemline. He joins from BOC where he was personnel manager.

• MDSG DONAG HUE Accountant Stephen Donaghue joins Magazine Distribution Service Group as director of finance and administration.

• BAINBRIDGE SILENCERS BATES Stuart Bates has taken up the new post of sales manager, Timax shock absorbers, manufactured by Bainbridge. He has worked with Armstrong Patents and BIG Batteries. • AUTOGLASS MCDOWELL Heather McDowell has been promoted from supervisor at Autoglass to manager, responsible for the workshop staff and vans at the Cambridge-based company.

• FERRTMASTERS HILL Martin Hill has joined Ferrymasters' French division as sales representative, based at Dover. He joins Ferrymasters from Kent company Intercity Trucks.

• BFI WASTECARE SEARLESANASLEY Chris Searles has been promoted to the new post of UK marketing development manager of BFI Wastecare. He has been with the company since 1984, working in the Middle East and the UK.

Mike Wasley replaces Searle as district manager at BFI Wastecare's Cannock site.

• MEL LOGISTICS PECKNE ITCH Exel Logistics — Consumer and Industrial has appointed two managing directors: Francis Peck will head the consumer division, and is promoted from Exel's Fashionflow division where he was director of warehousing; and Ian Veitch is taking charge of the industrial sector.

• MERSEYBUS THOMAS Gwyn Thomas is retiring from Merseybus at the end of this year. His most recent post was chief-executive and managing director. Thomas has worked in public transport in the North-West for 44 years.
