hauliers" (CM 5-11 October), you refer to RAC Octagon Recovery as the "AA's truck recovery organisation". May I just clear up any confusion. Octagon Recovery is alive, extremely healthy, and still an integral part of the RAC's happy family.
Octagon's European control centre is based at Calais in the same offices as the RAC's European service. As you point out, the company has expansion plans, which may or may not see it opening more offices in Europe. The venture into Europe began last year and now we operate anywhere in Western Europe.
There has been a recent change of personnel at the top of the organisation. Graham Moore has become managing director. He succeeds Bob Clarke, who started the company from scratch just 10 years ago.
