• Mold Crown Court has cut an overloading fine on Richard Preston & Sons of Potto from 21,200 to £400 with an absolute discharge after hearing evidence at an appeal that the load had shifted under heavy braking.

• BOC Group pre-tax profits rose by 10% to £330.5 million in the year to the end of September. BOC attributes part of the increase to its distribution business.
