EUROPE'S EUROMODAL MEETING POINT • Railfreight Distribution is running a workshop on the Channel Tunnel and exhibiting swap bodies at the Euromodal 90 exhibition at Brussels on 30 January to 2 February 1990.

The Chunnel workshop will have a series of speakers and discussions with customers, users and operators, on Wednesday 31 January at 14:00hrs. LYDDEN TRUCKSPEED • The final round of the 1989 Truckspeed will be held at Lydden racing circuit on Saturday 18 November (practice from 11:30, racing from 13: 00hrs), and Sunday 19 November 1989 (practice from 12:30 racing from 13:30hrs).

Entrance costs 24 for adults on Saturday, and £5 on Sunday. Children and parking is free.

ENTHUSIASTIC GATHERINGS • The Midlands branch of the Commercial Vehicle and Road Transport Club is holding a series of meetings to discuss the road transport scene and history and the preservation of old commercial vehicles.

CHUNNEL COACHING IN SWANSEA II David Kendall of National Express will speak on the effect of the Channel Tunnel on European coach travel in 1992 and beyond, at a meeting hosted by the Chartered Institute of Transport, to be held at the Dolphin Hotel, Swansea on 23 November at 19: 00hrs.

TRANSPORT IN THE 90'S CONFERENCE • A conference about passenger transport in the 1990s will be held at Nottingham University by CiCC from 4-6 April 1990.

The keynote address will be given by David Silcock, deputy director of the Transport Operations research group at Newcastle University. Other speakers will include Derek Palmer from the CBI, Carmen Hass-Klau, from Environmental and Transport Planning, and Sir Stanley Bailey, chief constable of Northumbria.
