• Millionnaire Abdul Shamji, whose Gomba Holdings Group acquired the Stonefield truck project in 1981 (CM 14 march 1981), has been jailed for 15 months at the Central Criminal Court for lying during a court inquiry into his finances. Gornba lost control of the Stonefield project when production of the vehicle was transferred to Rochester in Kent.
