• Avon Tyres has sold its Backstop truck and bus reverse-braking device to Marlborough Metal Fabrications of Croft, Leics; in future it will be called the Croft Backstop.
The device came on to the market six years ago and uses a rubber sensor strip on the rear bumper which reacts to any increase in pressure by applying the vehicle's brakes automatically.
