• Unipower's first 298101 (400hp) Cummins-powered 4x2 heavy duty recovery truck, equipped with Boniface Interstator 25 underlift gear, made its debut at last week's AVRO exhibition.
The wrecker is an S24 derivative: its 7.5-tonne front and 13.0-tonne rear axles can work with 12.25 tonnes on the underlift, (8.0 tonnes extended) at up to 55.0 tonnes for GCW recovery work at unrestricted speeds.
When restricted to 20km/h the axles are limited to 9.0 and 22.5 tonnes at 80 tonnes GCW.
