• Renault has been delivering the first Midliner M-series lightweight tractive units. The range echoes the M-series rigids with two M200 models and one M160.
Both M200s are fitted with the Renault MIDR 060226/TA 6.18-litre charge-cooled engine producing 144kW (193hp) at 2,500rpm and 635Nrn (4701bft) of torque at 1,400rpm. They are plated at 21 tonnes and 16 tonnes.
The M160, at 18 tonnes, fills the gap between the two M200s. Power comes from the Renault MIDS 060212/T 5.49litre turbodiesel, producing 117kW (157hp) at 2,600rpm and 490Nm (3611bft) of torque at 1,700rpm. All models use the ZF S6-36 six-speed gearbox and they are all built at Renault's UK Dunstable plant.
Renault has just won an order from a major brewery for five M200s with a low coupling height and factory-fitted air suspension.
