• Heron Distribution is appointing extra depot managers to cope with contracts it expects to secure over the next six months.
Annual turnover has grown from 2.8m two years ago to £26m and Heron's network has risen from eight depots to 17, according to commercial director David Hall.
Major gains were made from the John Dee group when it collapsed. One of John Dee's biggest customers was the Electrolux group, including Tricity Bendix. Heron was already working for Zanussi, another Electrolux company. It also picked up John Dee's Courage distribution work.
