Moody has granted HB Holt & Sons of Brough two extra vehicles on its five-vehicle/threetrailer international 0-licence.
Local residents complained of noise, "loss of visual amenity" and danger to a nearby school. The company, however, which has operated from its present base since the early 1960s, claimed there was no evidence that its vehicles were responsible for the noise. Its vehicles reverse into the depot so as to be able to drive out as safely as possible.
Moody imposed no restrictions, pointing out that visual amenities are not protected under English law.
