• British Akan Sheet has taken delivery of nine 4 x 2 Renault G260 tractive units under contract hire in a major fleet replacement deal.
The Dunstable-built G260 artics are the first Renaults to enter service with Rogerstone, Newport-based BAS and replace a mixed fleet of ScaniaE and Volvos. They will be used to deliver coil, sheet and foil aluminium to manufacturing plants throughout the UK.
The three-year contract hire package was arranged through Truck Finance, and the vehicles supplied through local Renault dealer Willowdene Garage of Newport.
