Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Less than a fortnight after launching its special edition short-wheelbase Bonus Transit van (CM 2 May), Ford is now offering a reduced specification 'Popular' version of the longwheelbase Transit van and chassis cab, and a Popular version of the Escort and Combi van.

On average, prices for Popular models are around 5% lower than standard versions.

Transit Popular models will be available with either a twolitre petrol, or 2.5-litre diesel engine with a four-speed gearbox standard on both engines.

As part of the reduced specification, Popular Transits have vinyl seat trim and a single passenger seat.

Escort Popular vans can be specified with either the 1.3 litre petrol engine, with a fourspeed gearbox, or a 1.6 litre diesel engine with a five-speed gearbox. The Escort Popular van has fixed, vinyl-covered seats and rubber floor mats, while the Combi Popular retains its fabric trimmed seats.

In addition to its new Popular models, Ford has finally launched the double-cab option on the Transit 160 and 190 chassis cabs at an additional cost of £773 plus VAT over the price of its normal chassis cab models.
