Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I READ with great interest of VBG's Consultancy Service (CM, April 11) of how to operate a drawbar outfit particularly their comments: "One of the worst drawbar combinations from the handling point of view is that of the little trailer/big lorry. The ideal is the short prime mover and a long trailer, the combination of which will 'handle like a dream'."

We are currently operating Bedford TK Luton Demountable Bodies with an overall length of 34ft coupled to a York DB8 22ft Trailer.

Our vehicles deliver throughout the British Isles.

Through the whole of the bad winter of 1979/80, we have never had a jack-knife and our drivers are so skilled that they can reverse the complete combination like an articulated vehicle.

The other advantage of the large lorry and the small trailer is that you have a sensible size vehicle for short-haul operations.
