Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

YOUR DETAILED coverage of the DAF range of vehicles (CM, April 18) and the operations of

the company was up to its usu high standard and proved ve interesting reading.

It reminded me of a series reports you carried some ; years or so ago, about wo done by Leyland Motors for D/ in connection with turbochar ing. The engines used were, believe, the old 0.350 and 0.3: models and, of course, for while the old 2600 trucks us( the Leyland 0.680 engine as i power unit.

As DAF appears to have gor to greater lengths than Leylar in turbocharging, and its e gines have very similar cut capacities 8.25 litre and 11 litre to two of the Leylar units, there is a tendency to thii that these early connectiol may have been the basis for tl subsequent development of tl DAF engine range.

Could it be that DAF ow much of its success to the a sistance given by Leyland yea ago?

I think many of your readei including myself, would be i terested to know more of ti "Leyland connection", whil never seems to be mentioni nowadays.
