Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• When it comes to making economies on fuel. Nigel Fry has all the angles covered. Not only does behave large tanks fitted to his vehicles, he has his Scania units imported with only the most basic of transit tanks installed.

"The units are shipped over from Sweden with just a small 50-litre transit tank," Fry explains. "That comes with a discount, because we did not have the full-sized tank. They come off the ferry at Harwich and are driven straight to Truck Logic. where the tanks are installed."

This saves on the initial cost of the unit, which makes a contribution to the price of the replacement tanks, so Fry gets an initial saving that is not available to an operator making a retrofit. "We've started running 6x2 tractors." he adds. "On a Scania 4 Series 6x2 the standard fuel tank is only 500 litres. Now we've had 840-litre tanks fitted it makes a big difference to the way we operate."
