Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A West Country freight moving agency which says it can provide work for hauliers is hoping to sign up owner-drivers and small haulage firms across the country.

Devon-based Distance No Object has the details of 900 firms in the West Country on its computer and is now hoping to extend the list to other parts of the UK.

The company was set up in November last year to provide a one-stop service for customers needing goods moved. DNO's managing director Dave Keightley says the firm provides companies with access to a haulier.

"Clients come to us with consignments they want moved and we give a price, goods-intransit insurance and a guaranteed delivery time," he says.

Once an order is received, the database is consulted to find the nearest haulier and he is then appointed at an agreed price.

Keightley is looking for smaller operators, as they are often more flexible, and some specialist hauliers. Those wishing to register have to answer a Questionnaire on types of vehicles, expiry dates of tax/annual tests and information on insurance carried. Hauliers can set the credit terms and registration is free. LI Phone DNO on (01404) 45839.
