Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MI Sun has introduced the SB3 93 commercial vehicle rolling road brake tester. It is a modular system which at base level (around £20,000) has the star delta wired roller set, axle weighing, a 20-tonne load simulator and four analogue meters.

Options include a digital display, integrated PC to run the VI's testing database, and a printer for hard copies of the test results (taking the price to around £40,000). The standard roller cover plates not only comply with health and safety regulations but also allow the unit to be used as a drive-over single axle weighbridge.

When used in PC mode, the computer will check the axle weight against that required (giving a warning if it is too light) and work out at what point to take the ovality reading. The rollers can be motored in either direction allowing for testing in reverse direction and for the vehicle to face either way.

Remote control is available for one-man operation as are radio or wired air pressure sensors. For those wanting to set up a test lane Sun is considering a package with all the necessary equipment and Vehicle Inspectorate approval.
