on staffing at the Transport Studies Group (Profile, CM 16-22 February)? The Polytechnic does in fact provide six permanent members of staff for teaching on our Masters course in Transport Planning and Management. It is research and teaching in freight transport and distribution that is entirely dependent upon external funding.

Clearly we have been so successful in securing funds from the freight industry that we simply do not need any scarce Polytechnic cash!
