LET COMMERCIAL MOTOR PAY FOR YOUR HGV CLASS 1 TRAINING

I Last year more than 50,000 hopefuls endured an hour of acute nervous strain during the course of their heavy goods vehicles driving tests.

Handing a rigid is one thing, but the men who earn a living driving an articulated truck up and down Britain's highways have to be the best in the business.

Learning to drive an artic, however, can be a costly business. Some lucky drivers work for companies which are prepared to foot the bill. But for the majority, it's a case of saving hard. And with the average HGV Class One course costing over 800 for 10 days' tuition, it can be a heavy burden to bear.

Now Commercial Motor is prepared to take up that burden by footing the bill — at least for one lucky would-be driver. Below are six questions covering a number of topics in the Highway Code. Answer all six correctly, tell us the most important skill for an HGV 1 driver, and you could be taking the first step in an HGV driving career.
