Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

GUILDFORD DELAYS • From early April to the end oi August, Traffic on the A3 at Guildford will be restricted to one lane in each direction between the Dennis Roundabout and the University/Cathedral sliproads. Drivers are strongly advised to seek alternative routes, particularly during the busy weekend and holiday periods.

There is no local alternative route which avoids Guildford Town Centre, which is, already heavily congested. Warning signs will be erected well in advance of the site so that long-distance drivers can select other routes, such as the M3.

SLOW LANCASTER • Traffic on both carriageways of the M6, from Junction 34 (A638 Lancaster) to near the Burton Service Area (just inside Cumbria), will be subject to delays from 13 March until 30 June while a 22m resurfacing scheme is carried out.

Contraflow working will start at 08:00hrs on Monday 3 April, and is expected to finish by the end of June. The contraflow will be in six phases. There will be a 50mph speed limit while the contraflow is in operation and HGVs will be restricted to the near side lane.
