• Craven Tasker has bought a half share of the German commercial trailer manufacturer, Blumhardt.
The deal follows Craven Tasker sales chief John Hope's criticism of industry talk predicting a downturn in the UK trailer market. "Early indications for trailer business in 1988 are very good indeed," says Hope. "We are bursting at the seams and increasing production in all our factories."
Hope believes that trailer manufacturers able to alter trailer specifications to suit customer requirements will perform better than those offering only standard models.
