• National Carriers Contract Services has taken delivery of 15 7.5-tonne AWD TL8-14 box vans for its contract with Vauxhall Parts. This is AWD's second biggest vehicle order since its birth last year.

• Glass producer Pilington has bought the truck and bus laminated windscreen business of Solaglas, which has an annual turnover of some £6 million.

• Distribution group Bilspedition has announced a turnover of £1,711 million and net sales of £1,140 million in 1988 — up 48%.
TIP Tautliners
• TIP Trailer Rental has ordered 70 Tautliner bodies from Tautliner Europa: 35 will be used in Germany, 20 in Belgium and 15 in the Netherlands. All are mounted on Krone chassis with air suspension.
Wincanton wins
• Wincanton Vehicle Rentals has won a five-year renewal contract with Duratube and Wire to replace a Mercedes-Benz 1617 and a 1114 curtain-sider.
