• Leyland Daf will have two multi-wheeled Constructor tipper chassis on show at next month's TipCon exhibition, both fitted with the Eindhovenbuilt 11.6-litre KT191 engines and ZF's 9S-109 Ecomid synchromesh gearboxes.
The engine replaces the current TL11B/C units in three and four-axled rigids.
It develops 198kW (265hp) at 2,100rpm and 1,090Nm (804Ib1t) at 1,350rpm (to EC 80/1260).
The 4.3m-wheelbase 6x4 model, which is destined for Smiths of Bletchington, will be fitted with Tadchurch rubber rear, suspension and will have a 14m3 body from Neville Charrold. Leyland Dafs two-spring steel rear suspension will be fitted to John P Lewis's 5.8m eight-legger, which will have a 24m3 Don-Bur alloy body.
